Vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) is a non-invasive intervention that employs sound and gentle mechanical vibrations applied directly to the body, using a variety of different equipment, including tuning forks. Sound vibrations elicit physiological responses in the body that influence parameters such as muscle tone, blood pressure, heart rate and the function of the autonomic nervous system (among other beneficial changes).
Various cultures worldwide have utilized sound vibrations for healing across physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions for hundreds of years. The efficacy of VAT has been successfully researched in various complaints, from physical ailments such as pain to mental/emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression. Vibroacoustic therapy can, however, benefit anyone (not only those struggling with their physical or mental health), since it invokes deep relaxation, alleviates stress and promotes well-being. We include vibroacoustic therapy (using tuning forks) with all 45 minute, 90 minute and 120 minute aromatherapy massages. Click here for our rates.
